My Routine

by Steven_Paul_Allen @ 2008/04/18 - 13:44:33

I've been terribly busy at work of late and as a result I have let my little website here slip, I am very sorry.

As of now, I would like to tell you all, just a little bit, about my current routine. I enjoy routine, I just do. So, what happens is I get in from work and go upstairs and get changed. I then fill my bottle up with water.

This is all in preparation for something that I have been alternating between. I have this miniature stepping machine, you see, and I like to get up on it and step away like a mad man. I also have an exercise bike that I like to sit on whilst pushing the peddles in a circular motion against some sort of magnetic resistance. I don't understand how it works, but then again I don't need to know. I am of the opinion that information regarding the inner workings of exercise bikes is dished out on a need to know basis. So, what I do is alternate daily between using the stepper and using the exercise bike.

I usually do 50 mins initially whilst I watch an episode of a serialized television program that I have either downloaded or have on DVD. The most recent offering was that of "Oz", it's a gritty prison drama and it was season 3 of said series. There are 8 episodes comprising the series and I watched this in 4 days. This is because after the episode watched during a cycle or step, I interchange between the lifting of weights, doing press ups and using my Powerball with a viewing of the next episode.

Once finished with my "Rambo Session" I run myself a bath and have a thoroughly relaxing time. What happens is relatively simple. I take my Pure One DAB radio into the bathroom and put it on "Chill Radio"; this puts me in a state of severe leisure and reduces tension. I then lie in the bath and read a book. I currently am in book limbo having finished "Sphere" this week. I have tried unsuccessfully to get into some selected short stories by HG Wells, which was a shame. I will therefore attempt to read "Life of Pi" again, of which I am on page 16.

Activity of this sort is known as ROYLAB, Resting on your laurels a bit.

After my bath I like to have a cheese and marmite sandwich (triple decker) and play Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on the Wii. I will generally play this for at least 1 hour because I bloody love it. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 just doesn't care. Of course whilst I play I have TalkSport tuned in on the old DAB radio. I really find the James Whale Radio show magnificent listening and I would implore everyone to at least give it a go.

I then go to bed. My alarm in the morning goes off at 8.30am, which gives me well over 8 hours of sleep a night. Last night, however, I went to bed around the 2am mark. This was because I had supplemented my PES 2008 hour (minimum of an hour) with glasses of fizzy wine and then Ben came over. We then played Wii Sports and I drank some limoncello, this was not a wise move. This morning I was so tired, even the monumentally massive fry up didn't do any good, it was unprecedented. What brought me round in the end was having a good old British cuppa and slapping my head whilst saying "wake up, wake up".
